  • Joan Lillard, 90, of Hot Springs Village passed away on July 7, 2015 at a local hospital. Joan was born March 9, 1925 in Winchester, England to Henry and Gladys Legge. Joan was one of the first English War Brides to come to America in 1945 along with her son Malcolm, and then later became a naturalized citizen.

    Joan moved to Hot Springs Village in 1986, she enjoyed painting, photography and gardening.

    Joan is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Carroll E. Lillard. She is survived by her two children: Malcolm and wife Linda Lillard, Carol and husband Buck Reid, 3 grandsons: James, David, Brice, 2 great-grandchildren: Jayla and Lauren.

    There will be a Visitation from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10th at CedarVale Funeral Home. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico at a later date.

    Remembering Joan as a true and talented lady. It is a blessing to know that she will be at rest now with her heavenly family. My condolences to the Lillard and Reid families.
